Program Overview:

The APEX Team Lead is responsible for the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Georgia APEX Program within assigned school districts. This role ensures high-quality mental health service delivery, fosters collaboration with school systems, and maintains compliance with DBHDD standards. The Team Lead provides consistent oversight and support across the team to promote strong performance, effective communication, and positive program outcomes. This position reports to the Community Support Service Program Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership and Program Oversight:
  • Provide daily supervision, mentoring, and guidance to APEX therapists, community support staff, and case managers.
  • Monitor staff productivity, documentation, and data collection to ensure compliance with DBHDD, Medicaid, and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with school administrators and district leaders to strengthen school-based mental health partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between DBHDD Regional Office and APEX staff, ensuring timely reporting and performance evaluations.

Program Implementation and Team Support:
  • Oversee APEX program implementation in assigned schools, ensuring fidelity to DBHDD and APEX protocols and achievement of service delivery goals.
  • Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, and referrals for assigned schools.
  • Provide coaching and clinical support to team members, emphasizing trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices.
  • Monitor early intervention efforts, including crisis response and coordination with community mental health providers.
  • Evaluate key performance metrics such as response times, service utilization, and student engagement.
  • Support clinicians in building collaborative relationships with school staff, including counselors, teachers, and parents.

Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Georgia (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, etc.).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing mental health services to children or adolescents, preferably in a school or community setting.
  • Prior supervisory or program coordination experience strongly preferred.
