Position Overview:
CAI Instructor 1 supports individuals with developmental disabilities by aiding with daily living activities, behavioral monitoring, and skills training in various settings such as homes, group residences, workshops, or supported employment environments. The role includes limited case management, transportation, and facilitation of group and individual training sessions.

Location/Schedule:
  • 824 Golden Hawk Road, Sandersville, GA.  Monday-Friday 8:00-4:00pm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instructs and supports clients/residents with daily living skills in one-on-one settings.
  • Observes and monitors client behavior, reporting any concerns.
  • Provides guidance on behavioral challenges, daily decision-making, and resolution of minor issues.
  • Assists in developing individualized service/treatment plans for assigned clients.
  • Participates in case reviews and collaborates with the treatment team to assess needs and plan ongoing services.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of client progress and services provided; reports changes in condition to the supervisor.
  • Transports clients/residents to appointments and activities as needed.

Technical Competencies:
  • Ability to observe, monitor, and assess participant behavior.
  • Knowledge of and ability to support daily living activities.
  • Understanding of confidentiality policies and individualized service plans.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized plans.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with community providers.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local regulations.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison among stakeholders and treatment team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of program services and available community resources.
  • Ability to plan and facilitate recreational and group activities.
  • Experience in supportive guidance, participant training, and service delivery.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • The selected candidate must pass a background check and drug screening.
